Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American journalist. She anchors SportsNation and serves as a SportsCenter anchor. She was hired by ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. Her mother is the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since age nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her land her first post as a producer assistant at Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she was a producer of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was employed to the CBS station to work as an sports reporter. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. She covered stories about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. In addition, she was an anchor for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she takes on more responsibility. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Besides this, she produced the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor. She also served as the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. They eventually moved towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November of 1985. She's younger than her sister. Her family relocated into Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. She divorced her parents within a short time and in 1995, she married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. When on vacation, Antonietta stayed at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed the job of his dreams. Antonietta who was in high school with an idea of what she wanted her future to be like, visited Mount Union University to determine whether the university was suitable for her. The campus was stunning and provided the education she sought. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and was enrolled in media studies at the University. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU in which she is a member. They formed a strong relationship. Mark Bergmann was the person who instilled her confidence, and his passion for journalism deeply touched her. She determined to meet his demands, never letting him down.
